An 8-day Great Migration Quest in Tanzania offers an immersive experience into the heart of East Africa’s most spectacular wildlife event. This safari follows the path of the Great Wildebeest Migration through the Serengeti, timed to maximize your chances of witnessing river crossings or calving season, depending on the season. The journey also includes game drives in Tarangire National Park, known for its elephants and baobabs, and a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to the Big Five and endangered black rhinos. Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, where your guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a safari briefing and relax after your journey.
Overnight: Hotel in Arusha

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hours). Enjoy a full-day game drive in a park known for its large elephant herds, scenic baobabs, and seasonal swamps that attract a variety of wildlife.
Overnight: Lodge or camp near Tarangire or in Karatu

Day 3: Tarangire – Central Serengeti

After breakfast, journey through the Ngorongoro Highlands to the Serengeti with game viewing along the way. Stop at Olduvai Gorge or a Maasai village if desired. Arrive in Central Serengeti for an afternoon game drive.
Overnight: Central Serengeti tented camp or lodge

Day 4: Serengeti – Great Migration Focus Area

Drive or fly (optional) to the key area for the Migration, depending on the season:

North Serengeti (July–October) for river crossings
Southern Serengeti (Dec–March) for calving season
Western Corridor (April–June) for Grumeti River crossings

Enjoy game drives in this region, tracking the movement of wildebeest, zebras, and predators.
Overnight: Mobile camp or lodge in Migration zone

Day 5: Full Day – Great Migration Game Viewing

Spend a full day in the Migration hotspot. Witness dramatic scenes such as river crossings, predator-prey interactions, or mass calving, depending on timing. Your specialist guide will position you for the best sightings.
Overnight: Same camp/lodge in the Migration area

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Enjoy a morning game drive as you leave the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Reach your lodge on the crater rim in time for sunset views.
Overnight: Lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Return to Arusha

Descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in this wildlife-rich caldera. Spot rhinos, lions, elephants, hippos, and more. After lunch, drive back to Arusha.
Overnight: Hotel in Arusha or optional day room before departure

Day 8: Departure

Depending on your flight time, enjoy a relaxed morning or optional local tour (e.g., coffee farm, cultural visit). Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
